Design Cissi and her team design each collection from the office in Södermalm, Stockholm.

For us, it is important to design clothes that are made to last. We are constantly working to improve the fit of our designs and carefully select high-quality materials. We don’t follow fleeting trends; instead, we create pieces that will last for years!

Material We try, whenever possible, to choose organic or certified fabrics.

• During 2025, 79.5% of our own collection was made from eco-labeled fabrics (organic cotton or eco-certified viscose).

The jersey fabrics with our own prints are produced and printed in Izmir, Turkey, near the factory where they are sewn. The cotton is GOTS-certified. For the garments we produce in Romania, we source the fabrics from suppliers in the Netherlands and Germany.

• The majority of our lining fabrics are made from recycled polyester.
• All of our viscose garments produced in Turkey are LENZING™ ECOVERO™ certified.
• In 2024, we also switched our woven viscose to 100% LENZING™ TENCEL™.

Production We currently produce in three factories: one in Romania and two in Turkey. 

We regularly travel to our factories to visit and inspect them on site. We see this as a necessity from several perspectives, including:

• By checking that the garments have the best possible fit during production, we reduce returns from you as a customer.
• By visiting the factories, we can also review the working conditions for those who sew our clothes.

We strive for environmentally friendly solutions in packing and shipping. Most collections are transported by truck from Turkey and Romania to Sweden, but in case of delays, we may occasionally ship some items by air.

Since autumn 2021, 80% of our garments have been packed in recycled plastic bags. Boxes shipped to our retailers are always reused as long as they are in good condition.

Webshop & store We ship all webshop orders from our store in Stockholm, where we also handle returns. To reduce unnecessary shipping, we aim to provide complete product information on our website.

About 80% of the items we sell online and in stores are from our own brand. For other brands, we only stock a few pieces per size. We want every item to find its rightful owner and avoid overproduction. That’s why we only have sales twice a year, one year after the items are released (except for occasional promotions).

In our stores at Bondegatan 12 in Stockholm and Kungsängsgatan 13 in Uppsala, the bags are made from unbleached, FSC-certified paper. Our webshop bags are made from 40–80% recycled plastic and are produced in Denmark.

Remake & repair All of our garments on the website come with care instructions. We recommend washing as infrequently as possible and airing out your clothes, as this helps them last longer.

We don’t throw away garments. Our first priority is to repair any damaged item. Often, this involves broken zippers or loose buttons, among other minor issues. If a defect cannot be fully repaired, we sell the item at a discount with information about the defect on our Buy & Sell page on Revive (Sweden based customers only). Any few items we cannot sell are donated to the Red Cross — usually no more than a handful per year.

Recycle & Resell In March 2019, we started the Facebook group Cissi and Selma Köp & Sälj (Sweden), where our customers buy and sell their pre-owned Cissi and Selma items, extending the life of each garment. In 2025, the group surpassed 3,000 members, and we partnered with the resale platform Revive to make it even easier.

Here, you can buy and sell old Cissi and Selma pieces, including sample items that were made before full production. We also sell sample items at our Sample Sale in Stockholm twice a year.

We want every garment to find a new owner and continue its life. If you can’t sell your Cissi och Selma-pieces yourself, you can drop them off at our Stockholm store or mail them to us (postage at your cost). Include a note with your name, email, and any defects. As a thank you, you’ll receive a discount code:

• Jackets: 200 SEK
• Dresses or trousers: 100 SEK
• Tops, leggings, or children’s items: 50 SEK

Items will either be sold at Sample Sale or in our Recycle group. Items that cannot be sold will be donated or, as a last step, recycled.
